GSI Delivers Lecture On Land Slides, Their Causes And Preventive Measures At GDC Udhampur

â€œThe study of land slides is very crucial before starting any civil engineering project and even before making our housesâ€ said Dr.Vinod Kumar, Superintendent Geologist, Geological Survey of India while interaction with staff and students at Govt. Degree College Udhampur. The superintendent Geologist has visited the college to deliver a lecture on landslides on the commemoration of 75 years of Indian Independence (Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsava). He further said that the department will be conducting field surveys and other academic activities of college students so that they get practical training. He also said that the students of Geology have great future with GSI in getting attractive pay packages. He was happy to see the apparatus, models and samples and highly appreciated the work and function of the Geology Department. The whole event was conducted under the supervision of senior faculty members Prof.Babu Lal Thakur, Prof.Romesh Kumar Atri, and Prof.Kamal Kishore etc. and the event was managed by Mr.Ravi Sharma (Lecturer Geology), and Mr.Renu Kumar (Lecturer Geology). The other faculty members who were present including Prof.Rajan Bharti, Prof.Rakesh Kumar etc.
