NCC wings GDC Udhampur organises YOG Camp In the continuum of the events in Azadi ka Amrut Kaal, during G20 Presidency of India and Har Ghar Dhyaan Abhiyan, a Yog Shivir was organized by 2 Jk boys bn of the college on the occation of 9th international Yoga Day in collaboration with Ayush department and in coordination with 2 JK girls Battalion alongwith NSS Units of the college on the theme "Vasudaivakutumbakam". The event was organized in the lush green lawns of the Collge Vatika under the patronship and presence of the Principal Prof. (Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta and the directions of colonel R.S Jasrotia, Commanding officer 2 JK Boys Bn and Colonel Surindra Singh, Commanding officer 2 JK Girls battalion. Speaking on the ocassion the Principal and the patron, Dr. Romesh kumar Gupta, highlighted the importance of yog in maintaining harmony and turning the mother earth into a peaceful living place. He congratulated all the participants together and encouraged them to keep participating in such activities. He also appreciated the teaching and non-teaching staff, NSS PO 's and ANO NCC for their constant support and cooperation in the organisation of such events. Prior to the yog session the cadets and the participants were welcomed on behalf of the Principal and Commanding officer of the NCC Unit by the ANO Prof ( Capt) Shivani Sharma. She senisitized the NCC cadets about the need of yoga in today's lifestyle and it's role in bringing the harmony and Peace on earth and In curbing the drug menace. Dr. Sakshi from Ayush department gave a lecture on the role of yog in moulding the young minds. The yog shivir commenced with yog prayer followed by a yog pledge-taking ceremony by all cadets, NSS Volunteers, officials from AYUSH Department and the staff for “Yog for Mission life" which syncronized with this year's theme of yog as,"One world one family one health.The yog session started with the pranayam followed by various yog asanas like hal asan, trikon asan, vakar asan,taad asan,shav asan, as per the yog-protocol. Ms Jyoti sharma from Ayush department was the Yog Instructer on the ocassion. The yog shivir was attended by 160 Sd cadets of 2Jk boys bn including, senior division cadets of Govt Degree college udhampur, Govt. Boys higher secondary school udhampur and JD cadets of Army public school udhampur , Army school dhar road , govt. higher secondary school garhi and Kendriya vidyalaya no 1 udhampur . A Total of 25 Senior wing cadets of Govt Degree College Boys udhampur also participated enthusiastically in the yoga session. A Number of NSS volunteers and Ex NCC cadets along with NCC ANOs Lt. Kanchan Sharma, T.O Santosh Kumar, T.O Ranjeet Singh, C.T Rajan Prashar, C.T Ankush Sharma, NSS PO's Dr. Rippy Bawa and Dr. Ajay sharma of the college, staff members, and adjoining civilians also graced the occasion. The logistic support was provided by Prof. Samosh Kumar. Subedar Major Ashok Kumar, and Havaldar Narinder Kumar. The entire programme was coordinated by Prof ( Capt) Shivani Sharma Associate NCC officer of the college. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Ajay Kumar Sharma, NSS PO and HOD Mathematics.
